                                Joseph Biringer – Financial Secretary-Treasurer

Joe is finishing his fortieth as year as member of Bakers Local 24.

He started his baking career in January 1976 as a apprentice baker at 1991 when the bakery closed. He then was hired by Oroweat Bakery in South San Francisco and worked there until 2006. During his time as a baker he was elected Shop Steward at both Langandorf and Oroweat Bakeries. He also served as an Executive Board member, Union Trustee and President of Local 24 from 1999 to 2006. In November 2006 he was appointed Business Agent by Local 24’s Executive Board to replace the retiring Frank Valdez. In November 2007 he was elected Secretary Treasurer of Local 24 and re-elected for a second term in November 2010 and a third term in November 2013. He has proudly served as a elected delegate to the 2006, 2010 and 2014 International Conventions. He also serves as a delegate to the San Francisco, San Mateo and South Bay Labor Council's representing Local 24 interests and serves as Secretary Treasurer of the Northern California Joint Board. Joe also serves as the Co-Chair Trustee of the Bakers Local 24 Health & Welfare Fund and was recently elected Secretary Treasurer of the Western Conference of BCTGM. Joe is a widower and has raised four boys ages 27, 32 33 and 35. He comes from a tradition of bakers as his grandfather was a baker in New York and his father was a baker for 27 years with Local 24 at Langandorf Bakery in San Jose.

              Oscar Hernandez – Senior Business Agent/ Assistant Secretary Treasurer

Oscar is finishing his thirtieth year as member of Bakers Local 24.

He started his baking career in 1986 as an apprentice baker at House of Bagels in San Francisco. He then was hired by Safeway Store In-store Bakeries in San Francisco and worked there until 2006. He has served as an Executive Board member, Union Trustee and President of Local 24 from 1998 to 2007. In October 2007 he was appointed Business Agent by Local 24’s Executive Board as a replacement Business Agent. In November 2007 he was elected, re-elected in 2010 to a second term and re-elected to a third term in November 2013 as a Business Agent of Local 24. He has proudly served as a elected delegate to the 2002, 2006, 2010 and 2014 International Conventions. He also serves as a delegate to the San Francisco Labor Council representing Local 24 interests and serves as a delegate to the Northern California Joint Board of the BCTGM. Oscar also serves as a Trustee of the Bakers Local 24 Health & Welfare Fund and Chairman of the Western Conference of the BCTGM Retail Committee. Oscar is married with three children, the oldest proudly serving in the United States Air Force. Oscar's father Martin is still a dues paying member of Local 24 and has been since 1961, receiving a 50 year Gold Membership Card in 2011 from the International Union.

                            Juan Mejorado - Business Agent

Juan started his career as a Union Baker in 1990 as an apprentice baker at Oroweat Bakery in South San Francisco. He worked at Oroweat thru many changes of ownership for 21 years becoming a Journeyman Baker until April of 2012 when he was appointed by the Local 24 Executive Board to the position of Local 24 Business Agent to replace the retiring Humberto Gomez. In November 2013 he was officially elected to his first full term as Business Agent for Local 24. Juan served as member of the Oroweat contract negotiating team in 2004, 2007 and 2010 and served as Shop Steward at Bimbo Bakeries USA/Oroweat from 2008 to 2012. He also served as Executive Board member of Local 24 in 2011. He served as President of BCTGM Local 24 from 2008-2011 and was an elected delegate representing BCTGM Local 24 at the BCTGM International Convention in 2010 and 2014. Juan serves as a delegate to the Northern California Joint Board of the BCTGM and Western Conference of the BCTGM. Juan has been trained and certified as a Union Shop Steward and is bilingual, speaking and writing both English and Spanish
